The year of Morante
Talk about the year of Morante.
After cutting two ears off a bull in Sevilla on May 1st, then cutting a tail off a bull in Jerez, now Morante brought the house down in Madrid on the last day of San Isidro by cutting an ear off each of his bulls and being carried out la Puerta Grande for the first time in his career in Madrid.
He even came out of his hotel room later, wearing nothing more than a bathrobe, and toasted the crowd that had assembled and drank champagne all while standing on his balcony.

Morante saves the day in Madrid
May 28, 2025, after one of Morante's banderilleros had placed a pair of banderillos in this Garcigrande bull, the bull gave chase. As the bull was closing the distance Morante had to step in and distract the bull, even though he was taking a drink of water out of his silver cup.
Without spilling a drop, or so the TV announcers said, Morante distracted the bull and saved the day.

Miquel Barceló, autor del cartel de la Feria del Toro de Pamplona 2025

La MECA de Pamplona ha presentado el cartel oficial de la Feria del Toro 2025. Una obra pictórica del afamado pintor Miquel Barceló que ilustrará las combinaciones de una feria que se celebrará del 5 al 14 de julio y, que tal como adelantó Mundotoro, ya tiene los carteles de las figuras cerrados.
Miquel Barceló, nacido en Felanitx, Mallorca, tuvo su primer contacto con el arte a través de su madre, pintora paisajista. La faceta taurina refleja la capacidad de Barceló para dialogar con diversas tradiciones culturales y extraer de ellas potentes imágenes plásticas, integrando la intensidad y el dramatismo del rito taurino en su universo creativo.
Tras ilustrar en 2008 el abono de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla y la última corrida de toros en la Monumental de Barcelona, Miquel Barceló también fue el autor del cartel de la corrida homenaje al matador de toros Víctor Barrio que se celebró en Valladolid.
